Title: Time’s Running Out: Do You Have Your REAL ID?
After multiple delays, the final deadline for the federal REAL ID requirement is fast approaching: May 7, 2025.
If you travel by plane—even just within the U.S.—you’ll need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card with the gold star in the upper right corner. Without it, you’ll have to use a valid U.S. passport or another TSA-approved document to get through security.
What You Need to Bring:
Proof of identity (e.g., certified birth certificate or valid passport)
Proof of Social Security number
Two documents showing your current address (e.g., utility bills or lease agreements)
Not all DMV offices accept walk-ins, and wait times can vary, so it’s best to plan ahead. The process is relatively quick—especially if you schedule your appointment and have all documents ready.
Whether you're planning a summer trip or just want peace of mind, make sure your ID is compliant before May 7.
