Blue Ridge Electric Coop has added a window of super high charges for usage during 6 am and 9 am, while you are getting your family ready for work. They count on us continuing to do the same things and paying a higher bill.  There are some simple things you can do that will help reduce your monthly usage and bills.

???? Save Energy Between 6 AM and 9 AM! ????

Want to keep your energy bills down during those busy morning hours? Here's a simple checklist to help reduce power usage and save money! ✅

Before 6 AM
✔️ Take Showers at Night: Skip the morning rush and reduce water heater usage by showering at night.
✔️ Run Appliances Early: Finish using your dishwasher, washer, and dryer before 6 AM.
✔️ Set Your Thermostat: Adjust it for energy savings—lower in winter or higher in summer.
✔️ Unplug Devices: Unplug chargers, small appliances, and electronics you won’t need in the morning.

Between 6 AM and 9 AM
✔️ Turn Off Unnecessary Lights: Open curtains and use natural daylight instead of overhead lights.
✔️ Cook Smart: Use a microwave or toaster oven for breakfast instead of the oven.
✔️ Limit Heating or Cooling: Wear layers or use a fan instead of adjusting the thermostat.
✔️ Power Down Electronics: Avoid turning on TVs, gaming consoles, or computers unless necessary.

After 9 AM
✔️ Resume Normal Appliance Use: Save energy-heavy tasks like laundry or dishes for after peak hours.
✔️ Monitor Energy Usage: Check your smart meter or energy app to track your savings!

Small changes can lead to big savings. Let’s make mornings more energy-efficient! ???????? #EnergySavingTips #MorningRoutine #SavePower #Don'tLetBlueRidgeElectricWin
