This performance is part of the 39th season of the Lillian and Robert Utsey Chamber Music Series, which brings exceptional chamber music to the Clemson campus and the surrounding Upstate community at no cost.

Access to world-class musicians right here in Clemson is something we should not take for granted.

World Class Chamber Music at Clemson University
The program highlights the richness and technical beauty of the wind quintet, one of the most distinctive ensembles in classical music. Five separate instruments blend tone, texture, and precision into a unified performance.

The evening includes:

• August Klughardt’s Quintet in C Major, Op. 79, a beautifully structured work that showcases each instrument individually while maintaining balance across the ensemble.

• Louise Farrenc’s Sextet in C Minor, Op. 40, which adds piano and expands the sonic depth of the performance, offering a powerful and refined listening experience.

The concert also features smaller combinations, including double reeds, the noble sound of the horn, and upper winds, creating dynamic shifts throughout the evening.
