Stamp Prices Are Going Up Again

I do not use nearly as many stamps as I once did, but every now and then I still need one for a card, bill, contract, or note in the mail.

Starting July 12, 2026, the price of a First-Class Mail Forever stamp increases from 78 cents to 82 cents. The U.S. Postal Service is also increasing several other mailing services, including metered letters, postcards, and international mail.

For most households, this may not feel like a major change because we use email, online billing, and electronic signatures so often. Still, it is one more reminder that everyday services continue to cost more.

The good news is that Forever stamps already purchased at the lower price can still be used after the increase.

If you still mail cards, checks, invitations, or business correspondence, it may be worth keeping a small supply on hand. A few cents may not sound like much, but little increases are still part of the cost of doing business and managing a household.
