Octoberfest, football, hiking just a few of my favorite fall things.
The weather has cooled off some. The air is crisp in the mornings and I have noticed a bite in the air when I go home at night. We have not turned on the heat but that will not be true in a couple of weeks. Fall is here. Football started Labor Day, but it was hot and humid then...not now. The leaves on the trees are turning bright orange, yellow, red and brown. This is our peak week if you want to see the colors.
Octoberfest is this weekend in Walhalla. October 20-22nd. Local artist and crafts will be on display along Main Street Friday & Saturday. German food, carnival rides, and music will be at Sertoma Field also. Come the atmosphere is very happy and free. Fireworks on Saturday night can be seen from Main Street and beyond. I just sit on my front porch and enjoy all the colors, designs and glam.
If you do make the festival, be sure to visit one of our many waterfalls. Some are easy and some are not, all are worth the effort. Oconee Station Falls, Yellow
