59th Annual Hillbilly Day, July 4, 2018;
The longest consecutive running event in SC, is Wednesday, July 4, 2018, from 9 am to 3 pm, 125 Verner Mill Road, Mountain Rest SC. Rain or shine the fun will be here. “The term hillbilly originated when referring to persons living in the remote regions of the Appalachian Mountains. And since the Blue Ridge Mountains are technically part of the Appalachians, parts of South Carolina are in those remote hills.” As the longest consecutive running event in South Carolina, the day-long activities include mountain arts & crafts, a pig chase, climb a greased pole, quilt raffle, clogging and costume contests,
